CASE STUDY - Mug Mania

CLIENT: FedEx Ground

GOAL: Produce and drop ship 16,000 mugs to 400 terminals for recognition of employee safety achievements.

CHALLENGE: The short time frame only allowed 48 hours between the arrival of the mugs at the Cavanaugh Distribution Center and the scheduled ship date. The fact that the lid on each mug needed to be replaced with an alternate style added to the crunch.

ACTION: Cavanaugh’s flexible labor pool was coordinated to complete the task in the shortened timeframe. Shipments that required full case quantities of mugs were fulfilled first, followed by shipments requiring broken-case quantities and special packaging.

RESULT: All locations received their mugs on the promised date.
